Highfield Way Hazlemere contact details |
This is a three partner, dedicated training practice, in a semi-rural area outside High Wycombe, lying half way between High Wycombe and Amersham and easily located by following the signs to the Library, which is adjacent to the practice building.
The practice inhabits architect designed, purpose built, spacious, airy premises. There is a consulting room with full video-recording facilities for the GP Registrar.
The practice provides good experience of general practice in all age groups, social classes II and III. We are very committed to working together with our colleagues in the Primary Health Care Team. The practice team involves district nurses and practice nurses, who are very keen on training issues of all types. Catherine Tutt, practice nurse, is a teacher of asthma and chronic obstructive airways disease at Stratford. We consider our practice provides an ideal learning environment.
Dr Jacqueline Maxmin was a Course Organiser for the Chiltern VTS Scheme. She is also a Trainer and is involved in registrar training. Her particular interests include psychiatric issues in general practice and the use of family therapy and systemic techniques in the consultation.
Dr Nigel Masters is a keen general practitioner who has special interests in dermatology and
medical photography. He previously worked as a lecturer in general practice in an Inner City
environment for nine years. He recently won the GP Enterprise Award for rick management in 2004.
"Thank you, Nigel. It has been great having you as a trainer, mentor and friend. You do not know how much you have helped me to become a 'proper' doctor. Your enthusiasm, dedication and love for the patients made me remember why I wanted to be part of this profession. You will always be a role model to me. I will keep in touch."
The training practice has been described as "like a family, very friendly and helpful... All
the staff are very willing to help at any time."
We think it is unique and significant that
our last five Registrars have done enhanced training. We think this is a reflection of the
enthusiasm for general practice generated here.
